Storage Unit
Okay, by popular demand. This is the storage unit that my husband and I built. Hubby builds furniture (Queen Anne Style) so this was NOT a hit with him. But if it helped me to organize . . . he went along without much of a humbug.
I designed it. Took me awhile before he understood what I wanted but once he got it, we were okay.
I bought the wooden storage units from FMG one of the times I was hostess. Actually probably twice. LOL !
I keep the left side empty so that when I come home from a show, I can side my show trays into the unit and keep everything together.
I bought dividers from one of the shops in Philadelphia but they also have them at FMG (I think) and Nile Jewelry Supply. I'm sure I saw them other places. I can take a pic if anyone needs to see.
Anyway, this works well for me.
I do use the plastic boxes for findings, and Swarkies. When my recent purchases arrive, I'll have to move into another box . . . . Hopefully, the box shows up one of the days my hubby works days. LOL!
Any questions, just email me. llm161@rcn.com
Thanks for looking

Jewelry Store
OM Goodness, I've been working as a "split mom" for a Swarkies buy as part of the BaM group. I must have 20 customers and 25 colors being split up. I have a feeling that I'll never look at a bead the same way again.
I'm going to start selling off some of my beads. I think I'll do that through etsy since it seems to be the most user friendly.
Watch for coming announcements.

Yeah ! January 7
I am ordering a kiln. Finally. I'm so very excited. I haven't had a working kiln in many years. I'll be able to to PMC, fused glass, ceramics and . . . and this is a big deal -and - be able to anneal my flamework beads. I'll have to do the flamework with just a torch, no oxygen for now but I think it will work out okay.

Alaskan Sunset
June 2008, Sunset photo taken from our balcony on our Alaskan Cruise. I have something about Sunsets that really makes my life feel beautiful.
I love sunsets, be it on the Chesapeake Bay or the west coast. I have sunsets from Key West, Florida, now Alaska and from Deal Island on the Chesapeake Bay.
I love taking photos and find it very rewarding. I now have two new grandbabies and taking pictures is "so" much fun.

Okay, so much for getting it going. Well, actually, I did clean off about 50% of my design area. I also set up to start silversmith work again. I took a class by Don Norris the weekend before Christmas and I'm anxious to get to work.
But, I can't work in total chaos so, time to clean.
Also, spending some time looking for shows to do in the spring. The good ones are so expensive. However, if that means business is better than maybe it's for the best.
Time to start up a little bit of that Maurer Magic and turn it into a successful business.

I'm learning
I think I have to spend some times looking at other blogs and take into consideration what other people are doing with their blogs. Mainly, how to find enough time to do everything. I'd much prefer using all my time creating but creating for the sake of creating is not very profitable.
I need to find a way to market my services.
First things first, I need to get myself organized. The Christmas season has left me feeling overwhelmed and overworked.
Take to get it in gear. ! I'd like to post some photos but since I'm just learning this system it may take some time.
My web site is http://www.lmaurerdesign.com/
My favorite work right now is silversmith work.
I can't seem to get myself to do anything other than that.

Well, a new year, a new blog.. . .. . .
What a cool way to start the year. I'm working on cleaning up my design area. Got rid of a computer desk that I used to keep my sewing machine set up all the time. My thinking is that if I only use it once or twice a year, it doesn't deserve it's own table.
My ultimate goal is to turn two rooms of craft supplies, jewelry supplies, sewing supplies and my Longaberger collection into one room so that I can have a spare room meant for grandchildren. That means, I can use the room for sewing whenever there are no grandchildren in residence.
